Editor's Note: I think the word delightful is kinda lame, but I really like the alliteration. :)

Monday No Sun Day

Hello Sunshine!
poop.  it's a cold and gray Monday morning in the OC.  The weather might even be crappier wherever you are.  So let this little dress from f21 cheer you up.  And yes, you can wear orange.  Try it.

Fierce Sundress from F21

Tall Order

Summer is just around the corner and it looks like the maxi is going to be kickin around for at least another season.  Which is great.  provided you are exactly the same height as your store of choice's fit models.  For some reason, a lot of stores don't seem to give a rat's ass that if you are any taller than 5'6" you can only wear their maxis if you don't mind a whole chunk of ankle showing.  Maxi is hot, tea length... not so much.  Luckily a few stores have mercifully decided to start carrying maxi dresses in tall sizes.  This one from Old Navy is cute and only $39.94.  It measures 53" from shoulder to floor which should be sufficient up to about 5'11".  Unfortunately, the tall size is only available online so you can't try it on in stores, but hey, its a start.

... and just because it's Friday

I am pretty sure Rebecca Black is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse... (I don't even have an outfit to add to this one. sorry.)

Soundtrack for the Rapture. Britney Edition.

As is to be expected, Britney is wearing something whorish to the Apocalypse:

Get this look (just add undies and torn pantyhose and you should be all set):

Cheapo Cropped Leather Jacket from Macys

It's the end of the world as we know it. DIY edition.

And my soundtrack for the Rapture continues.

To get this kid's look is a 3 step process.*
Step 1.  Go to American Apparel.

Step 2.  Have just enough PBR in a can so you cutting skills are really on point.

Step 3.  Surgically remove sleeves with blunt craft scissors.

*Skateboard and messy room optional.

Forever Friday... The Beginning of the End Edition

The end is nigh (according to some billboards in major U.S. cities).  So what are you going to wear to the Rapture?

Way back in 1980 something or the other, Blondie had a pretty kickin outfit picked out for the Rapture.

"Where am I ever going to find some sweet formal shorts and bedazzled tube top in the year 2011" you ask.  Probably in your own closet, but in case you aren't prepared, Forever 21 has you covered with this little jumper.  For only $17.80, so you won't feel so bad leaving this outfit behind when you get called up.  The only problem is you have to get completely naked to go to the bathroom.

Wear this to the Rapture

Pretty... boring

Hmm... I was hoping to wake up to something a LITTLE more exciting than this (Exhibit A):

Exhibit A
Yeah yeah its classic and classy but eh.... I was really hoping it would have a little more pizazz. For weeks now, we have been hearing Alexander McQueen rumors.

Exhibit B
When I hear A-McQ I think of all sorts of dramatic nonsense (see Exhibit B; sidebar: I am pretty sure I saw this same upside down pleaty pocket business on project runway a few years ago).  Ok, so clearly I don't think that K-Mid, should have worn a dress like the one featured in Exhibit B... but I was hoping for something a little more avant garde and a little less Maria Von Trapp.

...and while I have your attention, enough with all the Grace Kelly comparisons... Kate is a cute girl, but Grace Kelly she is not.

Respect
Ok, that's all.  We can all go back to our lives and poor Kate can scrub off that terrible brown contouring blush and have a cookie (but don't go crazy with it lest she end up a weight watchers spokes gal like the original Duchess Fergie Ferg).
