Hooray, Electricity! |
Due in part to HBO's most awesomest new show Boardwalk Empire, Prohibition chic is so hot right now. This works out well for the Edison in Downtown LA. Inside, the Edison looks like a sexy old-timey power plant that has been converted into a speakeasy. At times it feels as if you accidentally found your way into the lair of a 1920's mad scientist/serial killer. I love this, probably because I am a sick bitch. They have silent films projected on the walls and if you're lucky, you might even catch a burlesque show.
Old timey torture chamber? |
They have a kinda bitchy dress code, but it makes the place seem classier (because without a strict dress code it would probably fill up with dumbasses in shorts and flip flops). Stop by on December 5 to celebrate the repeal of prohibition.
